Right now, businesses across Oregon are enduring one of the worst crises our state has seen, and many tell us they fear for their long-term survival.
That is why the our coalition has been working around the clock to advocate with our state leaders to address the number one issue we’re hearing from our members: Lack of cash and the serious need for tax relief. Many businesses simply don’t have the means to both pay new taxes and keep their employees on the payroll.
We have worked with a business coalition led by Oregon Business & Industry – nearly 50 associations strong -- to advocate for delaying the implementation of the new Corporate Activity Tax for the first two quarters of 2020. We’ve sent letters, organized press campaigns and lobbied elected officials directly to communicate your needs as business owners.
Lawmakers need to hear from you. If you haven’t yet sent an email telling your legislators the challenges you face paying the first quarter CAT installment, due April 30, please do so today.
