Oregon’s business community is rallying together to say no to a gross receipts tax.
Last week, 22 Oregon business organizations signed onto a letter to the Capitol outlining six key principles for legislators considering any new taxes this session.
At the top and bottom of that list: No to a GRT.

The other key principles?
• Cost control measures, starting with PERS, must be part of any tax plan
• Take a broad view of Oregon’s tax system, don’t just focus on one new tax
• New taxes need to be fairly assessed
• Reforms to taxes and spending must have a positive effect on Oregon’s economy
