The Oregon Legislature has been focused on the $2 billion tax proposal for K-12 education, but that’s not the whole picture.
New taxes, fees and programs will actually amount to $5.67 billion. Yes, that’s BILLION with a B. That’s more than twice the amount that’s been touted for only education.
While the new taxes are aimed at businesses, you know those costs are passed down to Oregonians. If employers spend more on taxes, they have less to spend on new hires, better wages and benefits. Not to mention higher taxes mean higher prices at the checkout stand.
This is too much. Please join us in telling Oregon lawmakers Oregonians can’t afford this.
